Every person entering the Kidepo Valley National Park is required to pay an entrance charge. The Uganda Wildlife Authority, a government agency in charge of tourism, protects and manages Kidepo Valley National Park as one of its national parks. You must pay a park entrance fee to access any place that the Uganda Wildlife Authority manages and protects.

Kidepo has different entrance fees depending on the visitor’s country of origin. Foreign Non-Residents, Foreign Residents, and Citizens of East African Member States are the three kinds of visitors who pay to enter Kidepo Valley National Park. When it comes to entering Uganda’s national parks, both adults and children must pay entrance fees.

Entrance fees to Kidepo valley national park 

Entrance fees for adults into Kidepo Valley National Park are $40 for foreign non-residents, $30 for foreign residents, and UGX 20,000 for East African Union members. Kidepo Valley National Park entrance fees are $20 for foreign non-residents, $10 for foreign residents, and UGX 5000 for East African Union members.

Ugandan schoolchildren and university students are another group of visitors to the Kidepo Valley National Park. These pay UGX3000 each, compared to UGX5000 for tertiary institutions and university students. The Uganda Wildlife Clubs are the last group, and each of them must pay UGX 2000 to enter Kidepo Valley National Park.

Annual Kidepo Valley National Park entrance fees

Some visitors are intrigued to paying out the annual park entrance fees since they would love to go to the park repeatedly. To be eligible for the yearly pass, visitors must have a work permit that is valid for a full year. Tourists must be aware that the following fee does not include vehicle fees, which must be paid separately.

For lone travelers, the cost is $350 for non-citizens and UGX350,000 for East African Union citizens.

Couples pay $600 for non-residents and UGX500,000 for East African Union (EAU) nationals.

For inhabitants of other countries, a family of up to 4 children costs $800, while nationals of East African member nations must pay UGX 600,000.

The cost of an annual cooperative pass is $1500 for non-resident foreigners and UGX2,500,000 for East African Union members.

East African taxi drivers pay UGX150,000, while tour company drivers (those from reputable tour companies) enter the park for free. Safari drivers must pay UGX200,000.

Kidepo Valley National Park’s vehicle entrance costs

To enter Kidepo Valley National Park, vehicles must pay a fee that varies depending on the type of vehicle.

Saloon automobiles with foreign registration cost $40 and UGX 20,000 for East African Union members.

Foreign-registered minibuses and omnibuses cost $50 and UGX30,000 for residents of East African member nations.

Foreign-registered pickups cost $50 and UGX30,000 for East African Union (EAU) nationals.

For nationals of East African member states, 4-wheel-drive foreign-registered vehicles cost $150 and UGX30,000.

For nationals of East African member states, Overlanders Foreign registered its $150 and UGX100,000.

Foreign-registered buses and lorries cost $200 and UGX 200,000 for East African nationals.

Kidepo Valley National Park’s aircraft landing costs

Every single aircraft that lands in the Kidepo Valley National Park is required to pay the following landing fees.

For up to three seaters, foreign residents must pay $20, while East African Union members must pay UGX40,000.

For 4-6 seaters, the price is UGX30 for non-residents and UGX60,000 for East African Union nationals.

For 7–14 seaters, the price is $40 for non-residents and UGX80,000 for East African Union nationals.

For inhabitants of other countries, a helicopter costs $125, but for East African Union members, it costs UGX 250,000.

Aircraft parking costs $8 per day for non-residents and UGX10,000 for East African Union citizens.

En route pilots are exempt from paying park entrance fees if they just remain for up to two hours.

Important information on Kidepo Valley National Park’s entrance fees

Residents of Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya, and the DR Congo must pay foreign resident fees. Visitors who fall under the category of foreign residents are required to enter with their valid ID cards in order to verify their residency. Foreign non-resident fees must be paid by visitors who are foreign residents but do not have valid work visas.

How is the park’s entrance paid?

Kidepo Valley National Park admission fees are payable in cash at the park’s entrance gates or at the Uganda Wildlife Authority. Tourists are required to present identity and proof of residency at the park entrance so that officials can verify which category they fall under. The Uganda Wildlife Authority accepts payments in advance, and they will produce a receipt for your records.

Visitors to Kidepo Valley National Park must have appropriate identification that may show their place of origin. Foreign nationals who reside in East African nations must travel with a valid work permit that attests to their legal residency. Residents of East African countries must travel with a work permit attesting to their lawful residency.
