Wake up early for personal preparations and have a hearty breakfast. After, meet your tour guide for briefing of the entire safari to ensure you are prepared and ready for the tour.  Then set off for your journey to Kibale National Park, enjoying the beautiful sceneries  for tea plantations as you enter Fort Portal. Have your delicious hot lunch in Fort Portal and a city tour before continuing to Kibale National Park. Drive to your booked lodge for dinner and overnight stay preparing for the chimpanzee tracking.

3 Day Chimpanzee Tracking Safari in Kibale National Park

common chimpanzee in Kibale Forest Uganda Start your day with an early rise and a quick breakfast, then head to the park headquarters for a briefing on chimpanzee tracking protocols. Accompanied by a knowledgeable park guide, venture into the forest to track chimpanzees and other primates in their natural habitat, renowned as the primate capital of the world. Along the way, encounter a variety of forest dwellers such as L’hoest monkeys, black and  colobus monkeys, and baboons. The highlight of the day is observing the playful antics, communication, and feeding habits of the chimpanzees, typically allowed for an hour. Keep an eye out for forest bird species like the African broadbill, Ross’ turaco, and great blue turaco, as well as colorful butterflies and diverse flora. After lunch, either enjoy a picnic in the park or return to your lodge, then embark on the Bigodi evening tour led by your driver/guide. This wetland sanctuary near Kibale Forest is renowned for its colobus and blue monkeys, as well as a rich variety of birdlife including the African broadbill and great blue turaco. You will have an opportunity to go for a community walk in Bigodi for experiences like African homesteads, Banana bonga products, chimpanzee robusta coffee experience, traditional healers/doctors, handcraft making (ladies weaving baskets and cultural dances), cultural weddings, iron smith, and milking experiences. Conclude the day with a satisfying dinner.
