10 Day Gorilla, Chimpanzee and Wildlife Safari

You will arrive at Entebbe International Airport. A driver will meet you and take you to your hotel in Entebbe. You can relax after your flight and prepare for the trip ahead.

You will drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, where you will walk on foot with a ranger to see wild rhinos up close. After that, you will continue to Murchison Falls National Park. Before going to your lodge, you will visit the top of the falls, where you can see the Nile River squeeze through a narrow gap and drop down with great power. It is a great spot for photos and to feel the mist from the falls.

In the morning, you will go on a game drive to see animals like elephants, lions, giraffes, and antelopes. In the afternoon, you will take a boat cruise on the Nile River to see hippos, crocodiles, and the bottom of the powerful Murchison Falls. In the evening, you will do another game drive to look for animals that are more active as the sun goes down.

You will travel to Kibale National Park, famous for chimpanzees. In the afternoon, you will take a guided walk in the Bigodi Wetland and surrounding community. You will visit a local farm for a coffee experience, where you can see how coffee is grown and roasted, and even taste it. You will also meet a group of women weavers who make baskets and mats, and learn how their craft supports their families. Finally, you will visit the “banana man,” who will show you how bananas are used to make traditional banana gin, banana beer, and fresh banana juice, with a chance to taste them. This walk is a great way to experience local culture and support the community.

You will travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park. In the afternoon, you will take a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, where many hippos, buffaloes, and birds gather. Later, you will go on an evening game drive to see animals like elephants and lions.

In the morning, you will go chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge. This is a beautiful forested valley within Queen Elizabeth National Park. A guide will take you down into the gorge to search for chimpanzees in their natural habitat. After this experience, you will travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, where you will stay for the night.

This is a very special day. You will go gorilla tracking in Bwindi Forest. A ranger will lead you through the forest to find a family of mountain gorillas. You will spend one hour with them. In the afternoon, you will visit the Batwa people, who are the original forest dwellers. They will show you their traditional life, songs, and stories.

You will travel to Lake Mburo National Park, a smaller park with zebras, impalas, and other animals. In the evening, you will go on a game drive to see animals as they become active before night.

In the morning, you will go on a guided nature walk in Lake Mburo Park. You may see zebras, giraffes, and birds up close. After the walk, you will drive back to Entebbe, where you will stay overnight.

Early in the morning, you will go shoebill tracking in a swamp near Entebbe. A local guide will take you by boat to search for the rare and prehistoric-looking shoebill stork in its natural habitat. This is a unique experience for bird lovers. After the activity, you will be transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your flight home.
